A note on mathematical Infinity in Leibniz
Résumé
The understanding of Leibniz’s conception(s) of the mathematical infinite has significantly improved in the last thirty years and Eberhard Knobloch’s work, as an editor and as a commentator, has played a crucial role in this evolution. My aim in this note is to assess how these studies have modified and improved our understanding of Leibniz’s views on infinity. I also indicate some avenues it opened for exploration and which are now the object of ongoing researches.
