An Optimized Electronic Architecture for Resistive Sensors

Abstract

This paper presents a generic electronic interface optimized to condition resistive sensors. Therefore, issues relative to resistive sensing such as power consumption, resolution, offset compensation or flicker noise in amplifiers are addressed to reach optimal performances. In the presented ASIC, two different electronic conditioning chains were implemented to deal with both resonant and DC sensors. Both architectures show good experimental results that confirm the interest of the interfacing approach.
