Do model-theoretic grammars have fundamental advantages over proof-theoretic grammars?
Abstract
We investigate claims by Pullum and colleagues that model-theoretic grammars have fundamental advantages over proof-theoretic grammars. Upon examination, we find these claims are unfounded: the critiques of proof-theoretic grammars apply with equal force to model-theoretic grammars.
