A Proposed Architecture to Assist a Teacher in Course Planning

Abstract

In this article, we propose an architecture and an environment that enables a teacher to follow his students during their learning phase (assuming that the teacher doesn't have an educational platform at his disposal). This environment uses the web as a media and allows the teacher to assess his course at the end of the session. We envision that the student’s follow-up can be achieved individually or at the level of several homogeneous groups of students. For that purpose, we model the course by using a global ontology (an overall view of the system) with limited educational resources. We then link these resources to the various concepts contained in the global ontology. In order to follow the students' improvements, we categorize and extract from the servers’ logs similar groups of students using the pages which the students have accessed.
