A Joint Trellis Coded Quantization (TCQ) Data Hiding Scheme in the JPEG2000 Part 2 Coding Framework

Abstract

A new Treillis Coded Quantization (TCQ)-based data hiding method for JPEG2000 part 2 is presented. The main feature of the proposed scheme is that it jointly achieves quantization and infor-mation embedding. The characteristics of the TCQ quantization are exploited to quantize selected wavelet coefficients with specific codebooks. These codebooks are associated with the values of the data to be inserted. The wavelet coefficients included in the data hiding process are selected carefully in order to survive the entropy coding stage and the rate-distortion optimization stage of JPEG2000 compression. Experimental results are given to demonstrate the performance of the proposed algorithm.
